Your Daily Install connects what’s happening now with a useful lesson from the past—and one small thing you can do at home.
Print the worksheet, fill it in, and add it to your Household Resilience Network binder.
What’s happening now?
Three plan ads arrive. Each sounds like the answer. What you want first is someone who can explain your choices without selling you one.
Medicare Open Enrollment runs through December 7. There is still time to ask a careful question before choosing. Your State Health Insurance Assistance Program—SHIP—offers free, unbiased help.
You can get help comparing Medicare choices without starting with a plan seller. Find the local program yourself, then bring the question that matters most to your care.
Has this happened before?

In 1990, a federal law authorized grants for state health-insurance advisory programs serving people with Medicare. These became the State Health Insurance Assistance Programs.
The approach put help closer to the person trying to understand the rules. State offices worked with local agencies and community partners to build counseling networks.
The counselor’s job was not to make every household choose the same plan. People had different medicines, doctors, budgets and kinds of coverage. They needed help sorting out their own questions.
That distinction still matters. A national plan advertisement can describe benefits. It cannot, by itself, tell you how those benefits fit the care you actually use.
What happened next?
Today, SHIP provides one-to-one help for Medicare beneficiaries, families and caregivers. The national directory connects people with their local program. Some programs use different names, so use the directory rather than guessing from an ad.
This is not a claim that every agent gives bad advice. It gives you another source to check a decision before making it.
First choose the question. Then choose the person qualified to help answer it. A focused question about one doctor, medicine or cost is easier to work through than a pile of unsorted mail.
Why are the first steps the stiffest?
You stand up, then wait for those first stiff steps to ease. This joint-support video starts with the fluid inside your joints. What does that have to do with its daily formula?

What can I do?
Give this 15 minutes. Open the national SHIP directory, choose your state, and save the local contact. Write one question and ask what records to have ready for an appointment. Keep Medicare and Marketplace questions in their separate programs.

My Independent Medicare-Help Plan
1. Find the local program
☐ Contact found through the SHIP directory
2. Pick the question
3. Make the handoff
☐ Private records kept for the counselor, not emailed to this newsletter
Use the official program contact and ask how to share records securely. The worksheet prepares a conversation; it does not enroll you or change your coverage.
Today’s win: you have an independent contact and one clear question ready for the next conversation.
What if the next handful came from home?

Herbs for dinner. Greens for a sandwich. The COMPLETE 4 Foot Farm Blueprint shows how to start with food you already eat, using a small outdoor spot or an indoor setup.
